Social media team

Hi! I’m Emily and I’m part of the media team. I’m in my final year at the University of Birmingham studying Human Geography. I’m so proud and excited to be part of such an important and supportive organisation! I am a passionate feminist and advocate for eradicating rape culture. Too many of my friends, family etc have been victims of sexual harassment in some way, and I hope to contribute to a safe space for them as well as any other survivors. I am so happy to be part of such an empowering and passionate team!!

Bec

Hi, I’m Bec and I’m part of the Say it Loud media team as well as a freelance journalist. Having experienced sexual trauma while I was a student at The University of Manchester, I’m passionate about raising awareness about the impacts of rape culture within educational institutions. I think it’s really important for survivors to have a space like Say it Loud where they can express how they’re feeling without fear of judgement. I joined this incredible team so I could take a more active role in supporting my fellow survivors and continue raising awareness and educating others about rape culture and sexual violence.

Lauren

Deputy Head of Social Media

Hi, I'm Lauren and I'm a final year French and Spanish student at the University of Manchester. When I started sharing my poetry about sexual assault and gender-based violence on social media, the response made me realise that there are still not enough safe, healing spaces for survivors to talk about and process their trauma. This is something that has been created by Say It Loud and I am so proud to join their social media team and help a cause that is close to my heart.

Hi, I’m Ellie, I’m a third year Journalism student studying at John Moores University. Creating a safe environment for people to speak of their past trauma is something I hold very close to my heart. We need to come together and remove the stigma around sexual assault and rape culture. I’m working as a part of Say it Loud’s blogging team, but I’m also a freelance writer and website design assistant in my spare time. SIL is a space that allows for recovery and healing, this is something I believe in highly.

Media Team

Hey, I’m Sasha, I’m 21 and I’m super excited to be joining the media team for Say It Loud! I’ve just finished my degree in psychology and my time at university taught me a lot about the lack of support for victims of sexual violence, which made me deeply passionate about doing something to help. Say It Loud was and is a really important resource for me and a great thing to direct friend towards, whether they were victims themselves or want to know how to help others. I already feel very lucky to be part of this brilliant and supportive team and am looking forward to working with them.

PIP

Support Mentor

Hi! My name is Pip, I am a support mentor for Say it Loud & a 3rd year Law student. I wanted to joint the Say it Loud team to channel my passion for women’s right and equality in an effective way that benefits the community as a whole and opens up a non-judgemental space for women & men to come forward about their experiences. I have personal experience with Sexual Trauma and appreciate how difficult it is to navigate ones way through these events and a safe space like Say it Loud is SO necessary and that’s why I am so proud to be apart of this organisation. I can provide education and knowledge regarding women’s rights surrounding sexual violence and also information on the current law and the different areas surrounding sexual violence.
